Roadmap to securing clients as a Beginner.
There are millions of businesses right now that are in their Growing Phase. As a Newbie Freelancer, you can reach out of these Growing Businesses & offer them your services. Most of these Brand New Growing Businesses are still working on their Website, Social Media, Email Sequence, etc. You can reach out of them, offer a quick call, get to know their business, goals, etc.
Over the call, keep talking about the areas where you can help them. Avoid sounding desperate. Instead, go for a confident tone of words. Dhow genuine interest in their goals, and share how you would solve a problem had you been in their position. Don’t share the complete solution. Give them enough information so they come back to you.
Work out as much information before getting on the quick Discovery Call. This will help you give them suggestions. For Example – If you are seeing they aren’t using much of long-tail Keywords in their blogs, you can tell them how you would optimize their blogs for better visibility.
You can also give them a Free Website Audit or Social Media Audit for their Instagram Page. Find out the areas they need to improve and show them how You will help them get there. The more you hone your skills, the better you’ll get at your Discovery Calls. Your Confidence will help convert the Prospect into a Client.
Before ending the call, tell them you will share a small presentation shortly. After the call, get to work! Map out the scope of work you can do for them to grow their business. If you want to start as a Content Writer, suggest how you can revamp their ‘About” Section. If you are starting as a Social Media Manager, you can show them a vision of how can use Instagram to build their Brand Image and Online Visibility.
If you are a complete Newbie, you can simply write a Free Sample for them. Ideate some Content Ideas, Share outlines of Blog posts, Blog Title Ideas, and SEO Tips. Basically, share some Free Valuable Customized Solutions to their problems. I’m Reiterating, Do not share complete solutions. Just show them the Tip of the Iceberg. Know more…

Here’s a content Writing Formula for you!
Here's the thing
Getting clients is only half the deal. For a sustainable freelance career you must focus on bringing results for your clients. ✨
One happy client is better than 5 unhappy clients. 🎯
So what can you do to bring results for your clients? 🧐
Write content that converts. 💵
And how can you do that? 🤔
By making the reader a part of the story you're telling through your article. 💃
✅ Your writing should paint a picture in the reader's mind.
✅ As a content writer, it's your job to position a product/service as a solution to people's problems.
✅ Show them how your client's product/service will make the reader's life easier and better.
✅ Make them visualize it.
This is a basic content writing formula that you must follow.
Basic content writing formula
This is a basic content writing formula that you must follow.
Make your reader visualize.
The best way to keep your reader engaged is by making them a part of the story that you’re telling.
For example : If you’re writing for a company that sells car seat covers, make your reader visualize sitting in a car with luxe interiors.
Simple Editing Tip for Content Writers :
Writing is nothing without editing. ✍️
In fact, I spend more time editing than I spend on writing. 💻
While writing, I choose to be abundant. 📃
I go with the flow and dump everything on a google doc. ✨
Then I add structure and edit heavily. 📃
The more you focus on editing, the better it gets. 🎯
If you focus too much on perfection at the time of writing, you may come across lots of blocks. ❎
A writing block may hit you hard if you're fixated on perfection while writing. 👈
You get closer to perfection through editing. ✅
So, while writing, just go with the flow. ✅
Don't worry about spelling mistakes, vocabulary, etc. ✅
Basically, don't worry about the technical stuff while writing. ✅
Keep the technical stuff solely for your editing. ✅
This is how you can churn out more articles in less time as well. 🎯
While editing, if you see too many commas in a sentence :-
-
Try to break that sentence into several shorts sentences.
-
Chances are, you’re trying too many things in just one 1 sentence.
-
Commas are placed to bring a small pause in a sentence. Using too many commas breaks the flow of the reader.
-
Too many commas made your writing appear complex and difficult for the average reader.

Along with the above tip, you can also practice sentence contraction.
Here's why -
Sentence contraction is an integral part of professional writing.
This is the reason professional writers spend more time editing than actually writing.
If you've used 10 words to write a sentence, challenge yourself to write the same thing in lesser words.
_____
What is sentence contraction?
Contractions are a unique type of word that combines two or more other words in a shortened form, usually with an apostrophe. Contractions take words that usually go together, like can not or I have, and then remove certain letters to shorten them and make other words, like can't or I've.

In fact, it's all about bringing your attention to detail. 🎯
In the next one week, try to practice these tips while writing. You'll see significant change. ✨
Most writers hesitate to ask for a higher pay because they aren't confident.
The more you work on the quality of your writing, the more confidence you'll grow.

These tips are especially for technical content writers.
Technical writing is fact-oriented. There is no space for vagueness.
Follow these simple tips to gain prowess in writing technical articles.

Don’t make this content writing mistake! :-
It took me an eternity to learn this lesson. 👀
And I learnt it the hard way. 🤭
I used to spend a crazy amount of time perfecting just one article. 📃
My clients would ask me for changes over and over again. 🧐
Because I was constantly making this mistake. 👈
Redundancy is a big no-no in the content writing world today. ❎
Explaining your previous sentence with your next sentence is unnecessary. 💻
Make sure you don't make this mistake. ✅
Smart people learn from their own mistakes. Whereas, smarter people learn from other people's mistakes. 😉
Don’t follow up each sentence with a parenthetical sentence.
Each sentence has it’s own purpose.
Writing another sentence to explain your previous sentence makes your writing redundant.
Set 1 goal for one sentence. Don’t try to say too much in one sentence. Break it into separate short, punchy lines.
I want to be a Content Writer.
